Our Favorite TV Shows: Supernatural
Welcome to another installment of our series “Our Favorite TV Shows”. Today we’re going to write about Supernatural, something that we can refer to as “The X-Files of the new century”. Just like The X-Files, Supernatural has been airing for several years. Moreover, both shows are about supernatural things and follow a similar type of production (you can start watching the show at any point, and you’ll still understand everything). While Supernatural won’t probably become a cult TV series like The X-Files, it should still become one of the most popular TV series of 2000′s and 2010′s.
Supernatural is one of our favorite TV shows mostly because of urban legends – we love watching how Winchester brothers deal with vampires, demons, etc. It’s scary, it’s fascinating, and sometimes it’s quite funny. You can learn more about this TV series here.
One of the most fun facts regarding the show is that its creator, Eric Kripke, had been developing the series for ten years, trying to pitch it to various TV networks. Fortunately finally Warner Bros accepted his idea and thus the first episode of Supernatural was produced. Supernatural is about two brothers – Sam and Dean Winchester – who hunt supernatural things.
The first five seasons of the show were developed by the series creator, Eric Kripke. The last episode of the fifth season concludes the main story. However, since the show was super popular, the CW decided to renew it, and now it’s confirmed that there will be at least nine (possibly ten) seasons of the show.
Supernatural is widely available on the Internet. It’s possible to watch the last episodes of the show for free on Hulu, you can also access all seasons of the show on Netflix (read this article for more info) or buy them on Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, etc. Netflix is unquestionably the best place to watch this show, and if you want to learn why, this article about where to watch Supernatural online will explain it.
Our Favorite TV Shows: Breaking Bad
We’re back with another installment of our blog post series “Our Favorite TV Shows”. Today we want to write about Breaking Bad, a crime TV series produced for AMC TV. Breaking Bad focuses on Walter White, an uhappy high school chemistry teacher. He is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer and decides to produce drugs in order to ensure his family’s financial security when he dies (his son suffers from cerebral palsy). If you want to learn a little bit more about it, you need to know that Breaking Bad is all about character development. While there’s a lot of action (it’s a crime TV series after all), the main reason why Breaking Bad has become so popular (and is one of our favorite TV shows) is that Walter changes a lot and becomes more and more villain. It’s super interesting to watch the story in which the main character becomes darker and less likable.
Actors are another reason why we love this show so much. Bryan Cranston won three consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and he is the first actor to do so since Bill Cosby for the 1960s secret-agent adventure series I Spy. This tells a lot – he’s a really incredible actor. What makes Bryan even more genius is that has contributed to much of his character. Walter’s transformation reminds us of Scarface – if you like this movie, you should also like Breaking Bad.
If you want to watch Breaking Bad online, Netflix is the best choice. It offers all seasons of the show, and you can even watch the most recent episodes of the show just after they were aired on AMC.
Guide to Watching Movies on the Internet
Netflix is a good place to watch movies
You don’t have to have TV set in order to watch TV. More and more people are cutting the cable to watch television on the Internet alone. There are more and more sites that let you watch all recent TV shows, movies and much more for a very low price or even for free.
The best site that everyone should subscribe to is Netflix. Netflix is great because it’s super cheap (only $7.99 a month), yet it gives you access to thousands of movies and TV shows, including most recent episodes from TV channels such as AMC. If you like watching movies on YouTube, then you should consider subscribing to Netflix – you’ll find there much more content, and it will be all ad-free and in very high quality (up to 1080p).
If you don’t want to pay for watching TV online, Hulu is for you. While it doesn’t let you watch all episodes or all movies they offer with their premium service Hulu Plus, it still offers a very extensive library that you should love. The biggest disadvantage of this site is that there are many commercial breaks, so if you hate ads, you should forget about Hulu.
Last but most definitely not least, a great alternative to YouTube movies is Amazon Instant Video. Amazon Instant Video is Amazon’s service that let you watch most recent episodes of many popular TV series as well as movies. If you subscribe to Amazon Prime ($79 a year), you’ll have free access to many movies and TV series. It’s a great deal if you watch many different series and want to have access to some recent movie productions.
All of these sites – Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Instant Video let you watch movies without downloading anything.

Our Favorite TV Shows: Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones is probably our favorite show ever – after watching the third season, we like it even more than The Walking Dead. Why do we find Game of Thrones so incredible? Why so many people rave about it? Well, here are our personal reasons why we like watching this epic fantasy show:
1. Actors
We haven’t watched any TV series with so many great actors as in this show. They really pay attention to people they work with – even child actors are incredible, and many of them will surely become very famous in the next few years. Our favorite actor from the show (as for many other people as well) is Peter Dinklage who portrays Tyrion Lannister. It’s such a pleasure to watch so complex characters so well portrayed by very talented actors.
2. The plot
Well, the book is adapted from A Song of Ice and Fire, one of the best fantasy book series ever created, so you shouldn’t be surprised that the plot is so incredible. They follow the book quite closely, at least much more accurately than The Walking Dead which is only a loose adaptation. Each season is better – season 1 was incredible, season 2 (more about it in this article at TVSeriesYouLove.com site) was even better, season 3… hard to believe, but it was even better. If you enjoy watching TV series with a very complicated plot, then Game of Thrones is definitely for you. On the other hand, if you don’t like when there are many characters to follow, skip Game of Thrones and watch something simpler.
3. Locations and production in general
Production team really treats their job seriously. There are many incredible locations in the show that accurately portray the locations from the book. Moreover, special effects and other production is performed very well. If they released the series online to make more money (most people watch pirated copies of the show, because it’s impossible to watch new episodes online if you don’t have cable TV) they would probably be able to create much more special effects, but we can’t change HBO’s policy. To sum up, if you’re into fantasy, you’ll absolutely love Game of Thrones. If you like complex TV series, you’ll love Game of Thrones. If you like simple TV series with a couple of main characters at most, look for something else.
Learning Survival Skills from a TV Show
Dual Survival is one of the most interesting survival shows.
If you can learn how to survive a zombie apocalypse from a TV show, you can surely learn how to survive in the wilderness thanks to watching TV shows. There are quite a few good shows about survival (and no, we aren’t talking about Bear Grylls – his advice is dangerous to most people) that we’d like to share with you.
First and foremost, we really like Survivorman by Les Stroud. If you’re a Canadian, you surely know this guy or you’ve seen his show. He’s an artist and a survival skills expert. There is no other show like Survivorman because it is the only survival show where a guy who teaches you how to survive in the wilderness films it all by himself. Yep, there’s no TV crew with him – it’s only Les, his camera gear, survival gear and the wilderness for 7 days (and even 10 days for his short season 4). Les Stroud is a great guy to learn from about survival, because he shows you what a typical person can do in a survival situation. There’s no drinking urine (bad idea), hunting dangerous animals (another bad idea if you don’t know what you’re doing), etc.
The second show that we really recommend is Dual Survival. We like this survival show because it has a much better quality than Survivorman (well, you can’t get the best camera work if you’re filming everything by yourself). The places that hosts visit are so beautiful that once you see them, you just have to add them to your bucket list. That’s what we like about this show – it takes place in numerous incredible places. Even if you aren’t particularly interested in survival, you would still enjoy watching the show simply for sceneries. It’s a shame that Dave had to be replaced by Joe but that’s just the way it goes. We learned that with TV shows you just have to learn how to move on and enjoy it while it lasts – every TV show will end someday or someone will be replaced by someone else, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Watching TV Shows Online
More and more people are starting to watch TV shows online instead of turning their TV. Many people no longer have a television set in their house simply because they watch everything on their computer. Well, we aren’t surprised by that if you can gain access to thousands of titles for a mere $7.99 a month (Netflix). There are many sites where you can watch free movies online without downloading, and in this blog post we’re going to share with you some of them.
Netflix is one of the best options for people who want to watch TV shows online. They have a very vast library of titles including almost all newest TV series such as The Walking Dead (by the way, this list of places where you can watch the second season of the show: tvseriesyoulove.com/watch-the-walking-dead-season-2 is a good start for everyone who wants to watch TV series online) or Dual Survival (including season 3 about which you can learn more from this blog post: “Dual Survival Cancelled?”).
Another good option is to sign up for Amazon Prime. However, they don’t have even 10% of what Netflix offers. Amazon.com also offers Amazon Instant Video – for $1.99 or $2.99 you can download any episode you want (you don’t have to download the whole season). You can also check Hulu Plus which costs the same as Netflix. The downside is that they don’t have such a vast library as Netflix does. Don’t get us wrong – it’s still impressive, but for instance currently they don’t offer The Walking Dead (a huuuge minus!).
We think that the best way to watch TV shows online is to sign up for both Netflix and Hulu Plus. You will have access to thousands of movies, TV shows, etc. for a very low monthly price of $16 (they are interrupted by some ads from time to time but you also have ads when you watch TV). When you compare this low price to your cable TV price plan, you will consider Netflix and Hulu Plus a complete no-brainer. We highly recommend signing up for both of these services if you live in a country where they offer their services.
Our Favorite TV Shows: The Walking Dead
We want to launch our blog with a blog post series called “Our Favorite TV Shows”. We will share here with you our favorite TV shows, including drama TV shows, reality TV shows, etc. We want to start the series with our favorite show by far: The Walking Dead.
The Walking Dead in a Nutshell
The Walking Dead portrays a story of Rick Grimes, sheriff’s deputy who after being shot on a duty awakens from coma in an empty hospital. He wanders around the hospital only to find out that there’s no one alive there – only zombies. He leaves the hospital to find the whole town empty and overrun with zombies. Rick sets out to Atlanta where he hopes to find his wife Lori and his son Carl. Will he find them? What caused the apocalypse? Is there any cure? Are there any survivors? If you want to find that out, you have to watch the show!
The series is based on a comic book series The Walking Dead. TV show doesn’t strictly follow the comic book series but many characters from the comic book series also appear in the show (and many events are similar or the same). The Walking Dead is currently completely different from the comics, so you can safely read both comics and TV show, and you’ll still be surprised.
Where Can You Watch It?
The Walking Dead airs on AMC TV, so you can watch current episodes there. They also rerun the show from time to time (including a different version of the show in black and white). If you want to watch the second season, you can watch it on Netflix or download episodes on Amazon Instant Video (or buy a Blu-Ray disc).
