“…we have not spent the last 65 million or so years finely honing our physiology to watch Oprah. Like it or not, we are the product of a very long process of adaptation to a harsh physical existence, and the past couple centuries of comparative ease and plenty are not enough time to change our genome. We humans are at our best when our existence mirrors, or at least simulates, the one we are still genetically adapted to live. And that is the purpose of exercise.”
Rip’s quote above is the best description of what we want to teach on this blog. We want to teach you how to become strong and healthy in order to feel alive, live like a human being should live. That’s the most important reason to be strong and healthy – to live a life worth living.
Too many people today spend hours in front of their TV or computers instead of doing more interesting things – exploring the world, making positive changes in the world, working out to become stronger, learning how to cook delicious and healthy meals, spending time with trustworthy friends, etc.
We want to help at least some people change their habits and improve their life. If you’re tired of your current lifestyle, we’re here to help. In our first post we want to share with you three steps that you need to take first in order to become strong and healthy.
Start weightlifting. Weightlifting brings out the beast in you. Don’t take the easy path, though. Concentrate on compound movements such as squat, deadlift, bench press, etc. You can learn how to perform these exercises from videos by Mark Rippetoe.
Eat healthy. If you want to have steady energy, bring your body nutrients it needs. The best fuel is healthy food, so instead of eating fast food, learn how to cook vegetables and other whole foods. Eat eggs, drink water and tea, supply your body with healthy fats from nuts. Click here for info about a super healthy tea.
Be more active. Being strong and healthy starts with strong habits. Develop a habit to exercise at least three times a week, preferably more. You can have three weightlifting sessions and go to the swimming pool once a week. You can cycle. You can do brutal hill sprints. Just go out and use our muscles! Once again, we also recommend drinking matcha tea on a regular basis to help you maintain good energy (you can learn more about it here).
Don’t sit on your ass. Follow this strategy now!
