Public Participation

The Space Coast TPO values your input! Public Participation in the transportation planning process leads to a transportation system that reflects the needs, values and desires of the community. The TPO encourages public participation at all of its meetings and solicits input in all areas of transportation planning.

There are many ways to get involved and provide input into the decision-making process - including attending TPO and Advisory Committee meetings, receiving newsletters and "ENews" through our mailing list or e-mail list, responding to surveys, and participating in workshops and special events held throughout the year by the TPO and its planning partners.

Public Involvement Plan (PIP)

Schedule: Every three years a review of the Plan shall be conducted and updated, as necessary.

Public involvement remains an integral function of program operations during the development of TPO work products, Board meetings and day-to-day functions.

The TPO website is the primary avenue to disseminate timely information about the TPO and transportation projects throughout Brevard County. Additional information is provided through publications including “On the Go With Your TPO” newsletters, broad distribution of the TPO Annual Report and public workshops which are held as part of the project priority process, long range plan development and on an as-needed basis.

Meeting notices, special meetings and informational transportation shows have been televised on the local Space Coast Government Television channel. Additionally, the TPO Board’s monthly meetings are televised on SCGT. TPO staff continue to advertise Board meetings in local papers, including those with diverse readership.

Additionally, TPO staff participate in public information forums including Chambers of Commerce, Homeowners’ Associations, public meetings relating to transportation projects and the Brevard County Citizens Academy. Staff also respond to media requests for information, public inquiries for information and public speaking requests.
